Of Makeunders and Dog Birthdays

Today was more of a lazy Sunday.
It was my dog's birthday today! She turned eleven. I can't believe that; I remember getting her.

Also, I started doing something called a Makeunder. It's a lot of fun, and it makes me feel better. This weeks objective was shoes.
I used to be known as "The Girl Who Wears Converse All the Time". Well, I've started to thin my supply of shoes. Many I've not worn in months, and others are so torn up that it's not worth keeping them.

The shoes I got rid of

The shoes I have left! Sorry I didn't move my dresses and costume =P

Yes, that is still a lot of shoes, but it's far less than I had before! I'm on my way. I'll have to decide what else I want to subtract from my life! I'm already pleased; I want to hold on to material things less.

I encourage you all to try to improve your own life, if it needs it (but really, whose life doesn't need a little tidying?); it really is refreshing to clean up the clutter.

A fun day at the fair

I went with my parents to the state fair yesterday. It was a lot of fun!
We saw animals like goats, zebras, camels, kangaroos, and one capuchin monkey! I so wanted to hold that monkey, but sadly I could not. =(
We also watched one of our local bands play on stage, we ate fair food, and played a game where I won two tiny toys: a white lion and a cheetah.
Oh, and to top it off, I found a booth selling the movie Song of the South on DVD!
For those who don't know, SotS has never been sold in the U.S.A because of racist undertones(though I have never heard of anyone complaining about it), but it's a Disney classic. They even made a Disney theme park attraction out of the ride called Splash Mountain. Well, we bought the movie, and I'm looking forward to watching it!

My friend, the goat

I hope you all have had a wonderful weekend so far, too!

The little things

I spend a lot of time lazing about and not enough time helping out. Today I spent a lot of time trying to help my mom with things she usually does on her own, without anyone else to help her. We did the dishes, put up groceries, folded clothes, put away clothes, and it was fun. I enjoyed helping.
It's not that I don't like to help; I try to tell her that she does a great job, and if I don't say it, I do think it. Sometimes it feels easier to just do nothing.
I encourage to go and help someone you know, even if it's just the little things. It really made my heart satisfied.

Trial and error

Life is full of trial and error. We can succeed in what we do, but we are also bound to fail as life goes on. It is only natural; it's only human.
It hurts to fail, but I learn from the mistakes I make. It may take a long time, but after a while I can see what the faults were, and if I ever get a chance, I will know how to do it right the next time.
I only hope I don't keep repeating my mistakes.

Life is not easy for the boho-hobo artist

Nothing really new to report today. Just thought I'd stop in and say, for my good friend Riz:
Vegetables are a yummy food.

Sleep well, live life, enjoy everything.

News from D23 Expo

For those who don't know, D23 is a Disney club with the "D" standing for Disney and the "23" telling of the year Disney studios was created (1923).
They are having an expo this weekend, and they announced that the attraction Star Tours is going to be updated!! The ride was first brought to Disneyland in 1987 after Adventures thru Inner Space was closed down (you will be missed, oh ride I never got to experience!). It is based on the Star Wars movies, taking you on a flight simulator ride to the Endor moon, flown by the robot Rex*, whose first flight is the one we're taking with him.
It is a fun experience, and I enjoy going on it again and again (it actually has a relatively short wait time anyway), but a 2.0 is on the way, coming in 2011! The attraction will be closed down in the fall of 2010 to ready it for this new and exciting experience, which will also be in 3D**!
Some people are worried it will have a lot of stuff from the new movies. I don't care. I think it will be a fun new ride, though the old version will be missed.

*Rex is voiced by "PeeWee Herman"
**3D isn't cool for movies; it's only cool if you are being thrown around or having actual water sprayed at you when it looks like it is flying towards your face.

When can I go back?

Where I wish I was right now...
Ah, bliss...
